Fataleka love poem

My little love poem is translated here into Fataleka (To'abaita), a language of the Austronesian, Malayo-Polynesian, Oceanic, and Southeast Solomonic group, spoken on the island of Malaita (formerly Mala).

There are approximately 8,000 Fataleka speakers, whose language area is located in the center of the upper third of the island of Malaita, between the east and west coasts.

The Fataleka, who until the late 19th century practiced ancestor worship and headhunting, live from fishing and small-scale farming.

With the rise of education, agricultural land is becoming depopulated, making way for the large cities where they are emigrating.
